Sound

Here is a collection of my audio broadcasting.  It contains an array of samples including newscasting, play-by-play, and interviewing.  Thanks to SoundCloud for offering the handy application.

Below the audio player you will find a short background description of each track.

I welcome your feedback and comments below.

Track 1: Cape Cod Broadcasting Demo, Summer 2011 (2:00)

I auditioned for a news reporter’s job with Cape Cod Broadcasting in the summer of 2011.  I wrote all of the news stories that you hear based on actual press releases, and recorded at Cape Cod Broadcasting’s studios.

Track 2: Keene State at Eastern Connecticut, 8th Inning (5:35)

My most recent baseball work came in the 2011 Little East Conference Tournament. This clip comes in the 8th inning of an exciting game between two longtime rivals. It’s an elimination game, and Eastern Connecticut’s bullpen is trying to hang onto an 11-8 lead in a back-and-forth contest.

Track 3: Antoine Walker Postgame Interview, December 2010 (3:07)

In the 2010-11 NBA season, former Celtics captain and 2006 NBA Champion Antoine Walker attempted a comeback. The road started a great distance from the TD Garden, as Walker signed with the NBA Developmental League’s Idaho Stampede. Walker made his return to Massachusetts a week before Christmas, scoring 27 points but missing a buzzer beater that would’ve given his team the gift of a victory over the Springfield Armor.

Track 4: Johnny Ruettiger Clinches Cape Cod League Batting Title, August 2010 (4:24)

On the final night of the 2010 Cape League regular season, the Hyannis Harbor Hawks were out of playoff contention. However, All-Star outfielder Johnny Ruettiger of Arizona State had a lot to play for, entering the final day with a chance to become the Cape League’s batting champion. This clip comes in the 7th inning, with Johnny holding a slim lead in the batting race, needing one more hit to go over the top.

Track 5: UMass Boston Advances to 2010 College World Series (4:47)

In 2010, I had the privilege of calling UMass Boston’s improbable undefeated run through both the Little East and NCAA New England Regional tournaments. This clip is the final inning of a 12-6 victory over Tufts which sent them to the Div. III College World Series for the first time in school history. The audio is lifted from a television broadcast, which is why there’s less emphasis on the individual pitches.

Track 6: Wareham at Hyannis, 1st Inning, August 2009 (5:38)

Here is a sample of me working in a very comfortable environment, in my hometown of Hyannis working with my longtime broadcasting partner Chris Blake. This is a late season game, with a strange run-scoring play mixed in.
